13th ANNUAL GHANAIAN-CANADIAN ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS -
A Celebration of Excellence
The Chairman of Akonua and Kwama Children’s Literacy Foundation , Mr. Orleans Pobee received the very well respected Ghanaian-Canadian Achievement Awards 2013 (G.C.A.A.) for his outstanding achievements in COMMUNITY SERVICE at the award presentation night on Sunday September 22, 2013 in Toronto.
The prestigious Ghanaian-Canadian Achievement Awards was established in the year 2000 and is organized annually by The Ghanaian News. The G.C.A.A. recognizes and honors the
accomplishments, achievements and excellence of Ghanaian-Canadians in different categories and endeavors.
A very select group of 35 Ghanaian –Canadians received these accolades in the categories of Community Service, Business, Cultural Promotion, gospel Music, Academic, Sports, Professional Excellence, and Entertainment.
The occasion was graced by the presence of African Diplomats, dignitaries from the Municipal, Provincial and Federal government, community leaders, cultural groups, religious members, and the general public. As well the occasion was honoured with goodwill messages from our esteemed Hon. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada; Hon. Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario; Hon. Jean Augustine, Fairness Commissioner; Hon. Judy Sgro, MP York West; Hon. Jim Karygiannis, MP Scarborough-Agincourt; Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, Mayor of Vaughan; Chief William Blair, Chief of police Toronto, Chief Eric Jolliffe, Chief of police York Region.
Akonua and Kwama Children’s Literacy Foundation feels very honoured to The Ghanaian News and the Selection Committee of the Achievement Awards 2013 for recognising the contributions of our Chairman.
Akonua and Kwama Children’s Literacy Foundation wishes to thank earnestly Mr. Emmanuel Ayiku, Chair Awards Planning Committee, for his dedicated, selfless service and continuing encouragement to the Canadian-Ghanaians to become the
